Nokia Flexi and AirScale radio modules

Nokia radio modules divide cleanly into two platform generations, and the division matters more than any individual specification: Flexi Multiradio modules work with Flexi system modules, and AirScale radio modules work with AirScale system modules. They are not interchangeable, and a procurement decision that ignores this produces hardware that cannot be commissioned. The units listed here cover both — Flexi RF modules across the bands European and Middle Eastern operators deployed through the 2010s, and AirScale RFM and RRH units for LTE-Advanced and 5G. We are most often asked for Flexi modules, because operators running that platform can no longer buy it new.

How to read these part numbers

Nokia identifies radio hardware with a four-letter product code plus a six-character part number ending in a letter, such as `ARGA 474800A`, and often a three-digit suffix after a dot indicating a hardware variant. The four-letter code is the reliable identifier. Codes beginning `FR` are Flexi radio modules — FRGY, FRHF, FRMB — while codes beginning `AR`, `AH` or `AZ` are AirScale generation: ARDA, ARGA, AREA are AirScale RF modules and AHPMDA is an AirScale RRH. Where the listing gives a configuration such as `6T6R B3 480W`, that is transmit and receive branch count, 3GPP band, and total output power.

Ordering notes

Establish your platform generation first, because it eliminates most of the catalogue immediately. Then confirm band, branch count and total output power, and the system module the radio will connect to — an AirScale RFM needs an AirScale ASIA or ABIA system module and the software release that supports it. Nokia's four-letter codes are the only unambiguous reference; a description like "Nokia 1800 MHz radio" matches a dozen different items. If you are matching existing hardware, the four-letter code is printed on the module label.

Lifecycle and availability

Flexi Multiradio is end-of-sale and moving through end-of-support, supplied here as new surplus and refurbished stock with CRS PLUS warranty. AirScale remains in production, though individual band variants are withdrawn as spectrum allocations change. Status is stated per line.

Equipment condition

New — factory-sealed, supplied through the manufacturer's authorised channel or an authorised distributor, with full manufacturer warranty.

New surplus — unused factory stock, original packaging where available, sourced from decommissioned projects or distributor inventory. Manufacturer warranty may have lapsed; CRS PLUS warranty applies.

Refurbished / tested — previously deployed equipment, cleaned, firmware-checked and functionally tested against the manufacturer's specification before shipment. CRS PLUS warranty applies.

Condition is confirmed in writing on every quotation before you commit to an order.

Where equipment is supplied new through an authorised channel, the manufacturer's warranty applies and is passed to you.

Frequently asked questions

No. The two platforms use different fronthaul and system architectures. Replacing a Flexi radio means either sourcing a Flexi module or upgrading the system module as well, which is a much larger project.
