AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 XPON ONTs — dual-band GPON, EPON and XPON gateways

AX3000 is a capability buyers shop for before they choose a vendor: a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 gateway with four gigabit Ethernet ports, a voice port and an XPON optical interface that registers on GPON or EPON OLTs. Several manufacturers build to that specification and the requests we receive name them interchangeably — ZTE F6600P, Huawei EG8145X6-10, V-SOL V2804AX30T, JUQU SG666 and ODM units such as the AX-171G and AX-173G — usually in lots of 50 to 500 units at a time. This page lists them together so a buyer can compare the units on the fields that decide the purchase, and it deliberately excludes outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access points and repeaters that share the AX3000 label but are a different product.

How to read these part numbers

AX3000 describes the Wi-Fi 6 radio: roughly 574 Mbit/s on 2.4 GHz plus 2,402 Mbit/s on 5 GHz, hence the class name. XPON means the optical interface auto-senses GPON or EPON, so one unit can be stocked against a mixed OLT estate; a unit marked GPON only registers on GPON. The vendor model numbers encode the rest: ZTE ZXHN F66xx and F661x are the Wi-Fi 6 generation of the F6xx line; Huawei EG8145X6 is the OptiXstar four-GE Wi-Fi 6 model with -10 marking the market build; V-SOL V2804AX30T reads as four ports, Wi-Fi 6 (AX), 3000 class, with the AX15T sibling an AX1500 radio; AX-171G and AX-173G are ODM designations also sold as SK-D748S and SK-D746S.

Ordering notes

State the quantity, the destination city, the PON mode of your OLTs (GPON, EPON or mixed) and the OLT vendor, because registration profiles differ. Specify the connector — SC/APC or SC/UPC — and the power input you need: most units ship with a 12 V DC adapter, some compact models with 5 V DC, and buyers in markets with unstable mains sometimes ask for a wide-range 100–240 V AC adapter; all three variants are quoted where available. Name the firmware requirement — English-language and unlocked is the usual ask — and whether you need TR-069 or web-UI management. Quotations are tiered by quantity — typically at 50, 500 and 2,000-plus units — and are quoted new and refurbished side by side so the two can be compared on one document. No list price is published; send the model, quantity, destination city and whether refurbished stock is acceptable, and the quotation comes back structured on those lines.

Lifecycle and availability

All units on this page are current production and are supplied new. Refurbished AX3000 gateways appear in smaller lots, chiefly the ODM units, and are quoted with the grade stated when a buyer accepts refurbished stock. Where a model is superseded by its manufacturer the successor is quoted as an alternative and named as such.

What every quotation on this page carries

Each unit is quoted on the same fields so the vendors can be compared line by line: 4 × GE LAN ports · POTS / TEL port count · USB port count · 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (AX3000) · firmware language and lock state · optical connector, SC/APC or SC/UPC · PON mode, GPON / EPON / auto-sensing XPON · power input variant, 12 V DC, 5 V DC or 100–240 V AC · OLT vendors registered against and management interfaces (OMCI, web UI, TR-069) · condition and grade · warranty terms.

GPON today or 10G now — XG-PON and XGS-PON kept separate but adjacent

A buyer choosing between a GPON AX3000 gateway and a 10G unit is making the most consequential decision on this page, and it is a network decision rather than a CPE one. GPON with AX3000 CPE serves most residential plans comfortably at a 1:64 split; XG-PON or XGS-PON is specified where per-subscriber plans exceed what a 2.5 Gbit/s shared PON can deliver, or where the OLT estate is already moving to 10G — ZTE C620 and C600, Huawei MA5800 with XGS-PON boards.

The 10G CPE — Huawei EG8145X6 XG-PON variant and EN8145X6, ZTE F6640 and F7605P, Nokia XS-250WX-A — is therefore listed with the OLT platforms it pairs with rather than mixed into this table. If you are weighing the two, tell us the subscriber count and plan speeds and we will set out both options on one quotation.

Volume and samples

Typical enquiries on this page are for 50 to 500 units, with repeat orders following a sample evaluation. Sample units are quoted ahead of the volume order so firmware, OLT registration and Wi-Fi performance can be checked on your network before you commit.

Equipment condition

New — factory-sealed, supplied through the manufacturer's own channel or a qualified distributor, with full manufacturer warranty.

New surplus — unused factory stock, original packaging where available, sourced from decommissioned projects or distributor inventory. Manufacturer warranty may have lapsed; CRS PLUS warranty applies.

Refurbished / tested — previously deployed equipment, cleaned, firmware-checked and functionally tested against the manufacturer's specification before shipment. CRS PLUS warranty applies.

Condition is confirmed in writing on every quotation before you commit to an order.

Warranty

Warranty terms vary by item, by condition and by the supplier the equipment is sourced from. They are stated in writing on the quotation, per line item, before you commit to an order.

Where equipment is supplied new through the manufacturer's own channel, the manufacturer's warranty applies and is passed to you.

Send us the part numbers you need and we will confirm warranty terms alongside availability, condition, lead time and price.

Refurbished stock — how it is graded and what ships

New and refurbished units are quoted side by side. For refurbished stock, the quotation answers the questions buyers ask first, in the order they ask them.

Cosmetic grade.Is the housing new?
Every refurbished unit is graded A, B or C and the grade is written on the quotation. Grade A: housing free of marks visible at arm's length, no discolouration, original labels intact. Grade B: light scuffing or minor marks, no cracks, labels legible. Grade C: visible wear or discolouration, functionally identical to A and B, offered only where the buyer has accepted it. Where an enclosure has been replaced with a new housing the quotation says so; a re-cased unit is never described as new.
Test coverage. Is the board fully working?
Units are powered and functionally tested before dispatch. For an ONT that means PON registration against an OLT of the matching vendor, every Ethernet and POTS port exercised, each Wi-Fi band brought up, a factory reset to default, and the firmware version and language recorded. For an OLT chassis or board it means power-up, board registration in slot, optical port check, control board access and the licence and software state recorded. The scope of the test is stated on the quotation.
Carton contents. With box and power supply?
The quotation lists exactly what ships with each unit: the power adapter, matched to the destination voltage and plug type where you specify it; an optical patch lead where requested; and whether units are individually boxed or bulk-packed. Original manufacturer cartons are not guaranteed on refurbished stock and are confirmed per lot rather than assumed.
Warranty on used stock.What warranty?
Warranty on refurbished equipment covers functional failure under normal use and is stated per line item on the quotation — the period, what it covers and how a return is handled — before you commit to an order.
Firmware state. Is the firmware in English, and is it locked?
The language of the shipped firmware and whether a unit is carrier-branded or carrier-locked is declared per lot. Where English firmware is required it is confirmed on the unit before dispatch, not assumed from the model number. Locked or operator-branded stock is declared as such and never described as open.
Licence state (OLT chassis and control boards). What about licences on a used OLT?
Second-hand OLT chassis and control boards are quoted with their licence and software state as received, stated on the quotation. CRS PLUS does not represent used chassis as carrying transferable licences; software licensing remains between the buyer and the manufacturer or integrator, and we recommend confirming the licensing position before relying on a used chassis for a live rollout.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Will an XPON ONT register on my GPON OLT?

Yes — XPON auto-senses GPON or EPON at the optical interface. Registration still depends on the OLT accepting the ONT's vendor profile, so we state the OLT vendors each unit has been registered against and recommend a sample on your network before volume.

Is AX3000 the same as Wi-Fi 6?

AX3000 is a Wi-Fi 6 class — the 3000 is the approximate combined link rate of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios. Other Wi-Fi 6 classes exist (AX1500, AX1800, AX5400); AX3000 is the one buyers specify most for residential fibre gateways because it pairs a gigabit LAN with a 5 GHz radio that can carry it.

Do you list outdoor AX3000 access points here?

No. Outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access points and repeaters share the AX3000 label but are a different product with no PON interface. They are sourced on request through the routers and switches category; this page is kept to XPON gateways so it matches what ONT buyers are looking for.

Is the firmware in English, and is it carrier-locked?

The firmware language and lock state of every lot is declared on the quotation. Where English firmware is required we confirm it on the unit before dispatch rather than inferring it from the model number. Operator-branded or carrier-locked units are declared as such and are never described as open stock.

Can you quote the landed cost to my city?

Yes. Most buyers name a destination city rather than asking for an ex-works price, so quotations are prepared landed to the destination where requested — freight, insurance and the applicable Incoterm stated per line. Destination type approval and import permits remain the buyer's responsibility and the quotation says so.

Can I have a sample before committing to volume?

Yes. Sample units are quoted ahead of a volume order so that firmware, interoperability with your OLT and the physical condition of refurbished stock can be checked on your own network first. The sample quantity and whether it is credited against the volume order are stated on the quotation.

Which SFP class is the ONT matched to?

The ONT side is fixed; the class that matters is the OLT port optic — B+, C+ or C++ — which sets the power budget and therefore the split ratio and reach. If you are specifying both ends, tell us the split ratio and longest drop and we will state the OLT optic class on the same quotation.

Does it work with my OLT vendor?

Interoperability is confirmed per model, not assumed. The quotation states the PON mode (GPON, EPON or auto-sensing XPON), the OLT vendors the unit has been registered against, and the management interfaces available — OMCI, web UI and TR-069. Where a unit is known to need a specific OLT profile or firmware build to register, that is stated too.

What warranty applies, and what does it cover on used stock?

Warranty terms are stated per line item on the quotation, for new and refurbished stock alike. On refurbished equipment the warranty covers functional failure under normal use; the period, exclusions and the return procedure are set out in writing before you commit to an order.

How long to dispatch, and how long in transit?

Dispatch time and transit time are stated separately on the quotation, because they depend on different things: dispatch on stock position and test throughput, transit on the route and mode. Where you need help arranging the freight itself — consolidation, forwarder selection, documents — we arrange it and show it as a line on the same quotation.
