Marconi Communications was the telecom equipment arm of the former Marconi Corporation (UK); the bulk of its business, including its SDH transmission product lines, was acquired by Ericsson in 2006. Condition is stated per quotation — new, new-surplus or refurbished — and all stock referenced on this page is refurbished/used and sold on that basis; where a destination does not admit used network equipment we will say so and quote accordingly. Hardware only: no manufacturer software licensing or support is available, as Marconi no longer operates as an independent company. Destination type approval and import permits (CST/SABER, TDRA, ICASA, CA, CMC, ARPCE) are the buyer's responsibility and we will flag this on the quotation.
Lifecycle and availability
Marconi Communications was the telecommunications equipment business of the former Marconi Corporation (UK). The bulk of that business, including its SDH/transmission and optical product lines, was acquired by Ericsson in a deal announced in October 2005 and completed in 2006. Marconi has not existed as an independent equipment vendor since, so the item listed here is long-discontinued legacy hardware, supplied as refurbished/used (REF) secondary-market stock with no current manufacturer support.
