ZTE ZXMP, ZXONE and ZXCTN transport cards
ZTE's transport portfolio splits three ways and the distinction governs everything: ZXMP S-series shelves are SDH, ZXMP M-series are DWDM, and ZXCTN is packet transport. Sourcing spares for any of them is harder than for the equivalent Ericsson or Huawei hardware, because ZTE's international distribution is thin and public documentation is sparse — which is precisely why operators running these platforms tend to hold more spares than they otherwise would.
How to read these part numbers
The platform prefix is the first thing to read. ZXMP S330 and S385 are SDH shelves of different capacity; ZXMP M721 is DWDM; ZXCTN 6120S, 6220 and 6300 are packet transport nodes. Board names are functional abbreviations — OL1 and OL4 are optical line boards with the trailing designation giving rate and reach, CSA and NCP are control and cross-connect boards, RSCCU3 a control unit, RPWD3 a power board. The twelve-digit numeric material code is the only fully unambiguous reference and is worth quoting whenever the label is legible.

Ordering notes
Name the platform and shelf model, the board, and the twelve-digit material code if you have it. For optical line boards, state the rate and the reach class you need, since S-4.1 and equivalent designations set the optical budget. Confirm the software release, and tell us at enquiry stage whether a later-generation functional equivalent is acceptable — with ZTE that flexibility often makes the difference between a quotation and a dead end, and we will not substitute without asking.
Lifecycle and availability
All three platform families are end-of-sale and international support is limited. Treat every item here as new surplus or refurbished with CRS PLUS warranty. Export screening applies to items containing US-origin technology.
Equipment condition
New — factory-sealed, supplied through the manufacturer's own channel or a qualified distributor, with full manufacturer warranty.
New surplus — unused factory stock, original packaging where available, sourced from decommissioned projects or distributor inventory. Manufacturer warranty may have lapsed; CRS PLUS warranty applies.
Refurbished / tested — previously deployed equipment, cleaned, firmware-checked and functionally tested against the manufacturer's specification before shipment. CRS PLUS warranty applies.
Condition is confirmed in writing on every quotation before you commit to an order.
Warranty
Warranty terms vary by item, by condition and by the supplier the equipment is sourced from. They are stated in writing on the quotation, per line item, before you commit to an order.
Where equipment is supplied new through the manufacturer's own channel, the manufacturer's warranty applies and is passed to you.

Frequently asked questions
Why is ZTE transport equipment harder to source?
A thinner international distribution network and much less public documentation than the equivalent Huawei or Ericsson platforms. In practice it means longer lead times and more identification work at the enquiry stage.
Can ZXCTN and ZXMP boards be mixed?
No. Packet transport and SDH are different architectures on different shelves. Establish which platform you are on before ordering.
What is the twelve-digit number on the label?
ZTE's material code, and the only field that identifies an item without ambiguity. Board names repeat across platforms; the material code does not.
Do you supply complete ZXCTN nodes?
Subject to availability, yes — usually from decommissioned networks. Tell us the configuration and we will report honestly on what can be found and in what timeframe.
